A tour of the hardware identity
Every part of a PC has a way of introducing itself: the display, the system configuration, the security chip, the processor, the location receiver and the network adapters. Websites read that introduction through the browser, installed software reads it through the operating system, and a virtual machine has its own answer for every one of these questions. This tour visits them one by one and shows what each of them says.
The stops
The tour starts at the display, because it is the part a website sees first: the screen size, the pixel density and the color depth a browser reports all descend from what the monitor said about itself. From there it turns inward to the system configuration, where the PC describes its own make, model and firmware, and to the security chip, which answers questions about the platform it is soldered to. The processor stop looks at what a program learns when it asks the chip to describe itself. Location covers the receiver that reports where the PC is, and the last two stops belong to the network: the wired adapter and the wireless one, each with its own name, address and list of what it can see around it.
How to read a stop
Every stop is built the same way. It opens with what the part reports, in plain terms: the fields, not the byte layout. Then it shows who reads those fields — a script in a page, a program installed on the system, or both — and what the answer lets them conclude. Then it says what a virtual machine reports in the same place, and why that answer is usually the one that gives it away: a maker that names the virtualization product, an identifier the manufacturer never filled in, a value that no real part would produce. The scene beside the text shows the same fields as a card drawn on the page, so the tour can be read without watching it.
Why consistency is the whole point
None of these parts is examined alone. A display that reports a panel no maker sells, a processor that claims features its own model never shipped, a network adapter whose vendor prefix belongs to a virtualization product — each of them is a small thing, and together they are a verdict. What matters is not whether one field looks plausible, but whether the whole PC tells one story: the same maker in the display and in the configuration, a screen size that fits the reported resolution, a location that agrees with the network the PC is on. The environment this tour walks through is built to hold that story together, part by part, which is why the tour is arranged the same way.
The tour without the animation
The scenes are an illustration, not the content. Every stop is a page of its own with a real address, and its full text is in the page itself: it can be read with the animation turned off, with JavaScript disabled, in a screen reader, or by anything that fetches the page and reads the markup. Nothing in the tour is written into the video, and no part of the explanation appears only after a scene has played. If the motion is unwelcome — a slow connection, a small battery, a system that asks for reduced motion — the tour is a set of ordinary pages, and nothing is missing from them.
